2018-19
- Department has taken initiative to enhance the employability opportunity and technical skills of students by internship on “Plastic technology” in collaboration with CIPET.
2017-18
Technical skill
development training in Plastics technology
25 students of
III B.Sc - chemistry cluster students have taken ‘Technical skill
development training in Plastics technology’ for 17 days (22.1.2018 to 10.2.18)
at CIPET ( Central Institute of Plastics Engineering Technology).
- Produced a project report on ‘Moulding technics in Plastic engineering’and it is evaluated for 50 Marks under CHEC049 paper.
-
Hands on training is given on injection
moulding, blow moulding, extrusion moulding, film moulding and hand moulding.
-
Also trained in testing techniques.

2015-16
HPLC instrumental methods of analysis and basic organic synthesis- The department of Chemistry has organized a skill development training programme on ‘HPLC instrumental methods of analysis and basic organic synthesis’ at Shree Icon Pharmaceutical Laboratory, Vijayawada from 2.1.2016 to15.2.2016.
- This training programme is an initiative taken up by the department of Chemistry, Maris Stella College in collaboration with Shree Icon Pharmaceutical Laboratory, Vijayawada as a response to Prime Minister’s call for imparting job oriented skills and knowledge as a part of academic program.
- Hands on training is given to a group of 15 students from B.Sc (MPC,CBZ,Bio Tech) programme on HPLC method development and validation, simple organic synthesis and purity check.
Course out comes:
Upon completion of the
course, students would
CO1: Able to correlate the theoretical concepts
practically.
CO2: Gain hands on experience on High Performance
Liquid Chromatography for chemical analysis.
CO3: Learn
simple organic synthesis and reaction monitoring, purity check by Thin Layer
Chromatography.
2013-14
Instrumental methods of chemical analysis
The
department of chemistry, Maris Stella College, Vijayawada has organized a UGC
sponsored job oriented certificate course “Instrumental methods of chemical
analysis” from 26-11-2013 to 19-01-2014 in association with R.V.Labs, Guntur.
Hands
on training is given to a group of 33 students from B.Sc (MPC,CBZ,Bio
Tech) programme on chromatographic
techniques like Paper chromatography (PC), Thin layer chromatography (TLC),
High performance chromatography (HPLC), Gas chromatography(GC) and UV-Visible
spectrophotometry. In addition to these, the students are trained in
physico-chemical analysis of water, microbial studies of certain water samples
and food analysis.
Course out comes:
Upon completion of the
course, students would
CO1: Able to correlate the theoretical concepts
practically.
CO2: Gain hands on experience on different
analytical instruments for chemical analysis.
CO3: Learn physico-chemical analysis of water, drugs,
petroleum products, perfumes etc.
